Professional vocabulary in the paradigm of general competencies of students in higher medical and pharmaceutical education

Abstract: The importance of mastery of professional vocabulary by specialists in the medical and pharmaceutical fields is analyzed. In the course of obtaining higher education, information and communication aspects become key elements that require the development of relevant professional skills. It is noted that medical and pharmaceutical vocabulary has 2 main vectors: the general level of literacy and the use of special terminology. The results of the study indicate the need to deepen the study of Ukrainian and foreign languages in institutions of higher medical education. In general, the disciplines of the philological cluster develop flexible skills in the matrix of competencies required for medical and pharmaceutical practice. The future directions of the research focus on the search for innovative formats of information and communication support for the training of future doctors and pharmacists. Professional vocabulary is positioned as an element of stability of the development of professional skills and a factor of flexibility in the educational and cognitive process.
