Abstract: Novel 14-ethyl-14H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthine and 3-ethyl-2-methyl-1-(2-methylnaphthalen-1-yl)-2,3-dihydro-1Hbenzo[f]chromene have been synthesized, characterized by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and mass data. New methods for mixing β-naphthol with aldehydes have been developed, using natural acidic ionic liquids, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, H2SO4, and silica sulfuric acid. The chemical industry needs environmentally friendly synthetic techniques due to strict environmental regulations. Bleaching earth clay is an efficient heterogeneous base catalyst with a large surface area. Non-toxic cleaners like ionic liquids, water, and polyethylene glycols have been developed.
