Abstract: Model animal of this experiment i.e., fish Catla catla were collected from different nearby sources. The experiment started with around 160 fishes in number and weight around 60±5g of each fish. After proper acclimatization in laboratory, all the available fishes were categorised into four groups. In Group-I fishes were given only fish diet, and provided with water named as control group. In Group-II fishes dosing of Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) (15µl/l) alone; in Group-III fishes dosing of H2O2 (15µl/l) along with Vitamin-C (20 mg/L) and in Group-IV fishes dosing of Vitamin-C (20 mg/L) alone was performed. All the dosing process was performed for the time interval of 30 days, 60 days and 90 days. After completing the dosing process for the required interval of time different biochemical parameters such as Total Protein, Cholesterol and Creatinine levels were estimated in the tissues of kidney of the fish Catla catla from all four groups of the animals. After collecting and analysing the data it was observed that Total protein content insignificantly decreased in 30, 60 days and significantly decreased in 90 days in H2O2 group in comparison to Control group, and there was slightly lesser decrease in 30 days group treated with H2O2 along with Vitamin-C and this decrease was least in the last group which was treated with Vitamin-C alone. In case of Creatinine, there was increase in group treated with only H2O2 as compared to the control group, while this increase was lesser in group treated with H2O2 along with Vitamin-C, but in group treated with Vitamin-C alone it showed insignificantly changes in 30, 60 days and significantly Changes in 90 days as compared to control. And in case of Cholesterol level, there was elevated in group treated with H2O2 alone in comparison to the Control group, while this increase was lesser in group treated with H2O2 along with Vitamin-C but in group Vitamin-C alone there was decrease in Cholesterol level. All these results and analysis of data shows, that Hydrogen Peroxide affects negatively and shows its toxic impacts. While Vitamin-C somehow reduces the impacts of Hydrogen Peroxide and have protective role against H2O2 toxicity in fish Catla catla.
