Abstract: Systemic radioactive medicines as therapies for cancer, also called (radio)theranostics, were first employed in the 1940s when physicians used radioactive iodine for the treatment of thyroid cancer. Today, as the paradigm shift to precision oncology transforms cancer care, the theranostics community is expected to contribute significantly by improving early diagnosis, becoming more actively involved in patient care, reducing side effects, ensuring cost-effective treatments, extending survival, and enhancing patients' quality of life.
