Features of Pruning Black Apricot to Stabilize Productivity
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The article presents the growth, development, and fruiting characteristics of promising apricot varieties in the conditions of Zakarpattia under different pruning methods. The timing of bud break was determined, showing variability, and it was found that delaying spring pruning until the pink bud stage postponed bud break by 5-6 days. This aspect is crucial to consider, and pruning should be planned only at the pink bud stage. In the future, attention should be given to green operations to regulate fruiting on one-year shoots and secondary growth branches with a later flowering period which will help avoid recurrent frosts. A critical measure is the protection of blooming trees from late frosts.
