Comparative Analysis of the Strength and Environmental Friendliness of Various Materials for the Manufacturing of Outdoor Furniture
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This article presents a comparative analysis of the strength and environmental friendliness of various materials used for the production of street furniture. Street furniture, being an integral part of urban infrastructure, must meet the requirements for durability, resistance to external influences and safety for the environment. The study considers such materials as wood, metals, composites, plastics and recycled materials. The materials considered are wood (indicating specific species), metal (steel, aluminum), recycled plastic and wood-polymer composite. An analysis of the mechanical properties of the materials and their impact on the durability of street furniture is carried out. Particular attention is paid to the mechanical characteristics of these materials, including compressive strength, bending strength and impact strength. The assessment of the ecological footprint of materials includes the carbon footprint, energy consumption during production and disposal. In addition to the physical and mechanical properties, an analysis of environmental sustainability is carried out, including the impact on the environment during production, operation and disposal.
