It has been established that the training of future social workers who have social and legal education as one of the most important tools of professional activity. Accordingly, the development of the principles of practical training of applicants, focused on the formation of professional skills and abilities, stable motivation for future professional activity as a task of integrating theoretical and practical components in the process of training future social workers, is of particular relevance. Analysis of educational and professional programs for training applicants of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education in social work gave grounds to draw conclusions that the content of educational programs includes educational components of the mandatory block, which to varying degrees include components of social or legal protection of the individual. Accordingly, we have combined the identified educational components into two main groups: general and subject (special). Analysis of educational programs in social work, implemented in various higher education institutions of Ukraine, on the subject of the subject of qualification works, showed insufficient attention of the compilers of educational programs to the social and legal orientation of scientific research. Among the topics of bachelor's and master's theses defended in recent years, we highlight the following: organizational and legal principles of providing social services to the population in crisis situations; social and legal protection and support for internally displaced persons in Ukraine; features of social and legal protection of low-income families; legal regulation of social protection of persons with disabilities in Ukraine; etc. The vast majority of qualification works contain a social and legal component at the level of analysis of the regulatory framework of the research problem. As evidenced by the analysis of the topics of scientific research provided for by the National Program for Social Work, implemented in various higher education institutions and scientific institutions of Ukraine, the social and legal aspect of the social worker's activities is studied in the context of studying other diverse objects of social work.
