Abstract: We adopt the definition of youth provided by the National Bureau of Statistics of China, which defines youth as individuals aged 14 to 35 years old, because it reflects a nationally recognized standard that aligns with demographic and policy frameworks in China. This definition is particularly relevant for understanding social, cultural, and economic dynamics, as it encompasses a critical developmental phase characterized by education, early career establishment, and identity formation.By adopting this definition, we ensure consistency with governmental and academic discussions about youth-related issues in the Chinese context.
