Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Primum non nocere constitutes a central pillar of medicine, retaining its relevance across nearly all domains of clinical practice. When faced with a catastrophic event in a young athlete previously considered in peak health, who has been resuscitated on the field and is found to have a markedly hypertrophic left ventricle, it is natural that our instincts as medical professionals orient toward harm prevention. This invariably leads to a strong imperative to remove the apparent precipitating factor – namely, sports and exercise.
