Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The post-war period was the stage when the communist ideology was deeply rooted in the country, and holidays became an integral part of the daily life of the Soviet people. Between 1946 and 1948, repatriates who immigrated to Soviet Armenia, also took part in Soviet holidays. It is important to highlight that participation in these celebrations had a significant psychological impact on them. It can be stated that the holidays ensured a high mood of the population of Soviet Armenia, which was especially liked by the repatriates, who were already in a difficult psychological situation, and gave the opportunity to communicate in a more relaxed and open atmosphere, to get to know the local Armenians better. In this joyful community, amidst laughter and music, the repatriates could forget about their worries and find new support in the collective identity.
