Impacts of user beliefs and privacy on intention to use AI robots in real life

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This study investigated the antecedents that influence users' acceptance of robots as they appear in daily life. The data used in the analysis is the 2022 Intelligent Information Society User Panel Survey data. As a result of the analysis, there was no difference in gender in the demographic variables used as control variables, and users in the younger age group showed a high intention to use robot technology. Beliefs about the usefulness of robots were found to increase the intention to use robot technology. Among robot commercialization beliefs, beliefs about the commercialization of baby care robots and disabled care robots were found to lower the intention to use robot technology. On the other hand, student education robots and construction site work robots were found to increase the intention to use robot technology. In the case of future privacy protection beliefs, beliefs about future expansion of privacy exposure were found to increase the intention to use robot technology. These results provide academic implications on the role of beliefs in consumer acceptance of robots awaiting future commercialization and also provide implications for practical preparation.
