Multipurpose Agricultural Robots: The Applications of Robotics in Smart Agriculture towards More Advanced Agri Informatics Practice

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This paper presents the design and development of a multipurpose agricultural robot aimed at revolutionizing modern farming practices. The robot is designed to automate and optimize various tasks in agriculture, such as planting, weeding, crop monitoring, and harvesting, thereby improving productivity and reducing manual labor. The robot integrates multiple advanced technologies, including computer vision, machine learning, and autonomous navigation systems. These technologies allow the robot to analyses environmental| conditions, identify crops, detect weeds, and adapt to different farming scenarios with minimal human intervention. Additionally, the robot is designed to work in various terrains and weather conditions ensuring adaptability to diverse agricultural settings. The system is powered by renewable energy sources. contributing to sustainability in farming practices. This multipurpose agricultural robot aims to enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and promote environmentally friendly farming techniques. Ultimately, it provides a scalable solution to meet the growing demands of the agricultural industry while addressing challenges such as labor shortages and environmental sustainability. The agricultural robot is used to reduce human efforts made by farmers during farming. There are many aspects to the future of this robot. The multi functionality of the robot will also help the farmer use the same robot to extract weeds, maintain records on soil data, and make it available at any time as it will be stored in a cloud server. Farmers using bots will be easier to monitor the field. In recent years, robotics in agriculture sector with its implementation based on precision agriculture concept is the newly emerging technology. The main reason behind automation of farming processes is saving the time and energy required for performing repetitive farming tasks and increasing the productivity of yield by treating every crop individually using precision farming concept.
