Improving the Efficiency of a Hybrid Grid System Through Nutcracker Optimization Algorithm Based TDFOPI Control

Type: article
Abstract: This paper suggests a tilt derivative fractional order proportional integral (TDFOPI) controller to enhance the performance of a power system that combines solar panels, wind energy, and batteries. The research aims to improve the dynamic performance of grid‐connected wind, PV, and battery PS by utilizing the nutcracker optimization algorithm (NOA) for optimizing the TDFOPI controller. The problem with renewable energy sources (RESs) is that their generation fluctuates continuously, posing a challenge to the grid’s ability to function normally. To improve the stability and efficiency of the hybrid power system (HPS), a TDFOPI controller is used to manage reactive power and regulate the DC‐link voltage. The research addresses the issue of robustness against uncertainties and external disturbances. The primary objective will be to provide maximum power point (MPP) to the utility grid in a variety of environmental conditions while maintaining the grid system power quality (PQ). The NOA‐TDFOPI has exhibited remarkable efficacy in regulating the DC‐link voltage at around 500 V, irrespective of variations in irradiance, with a response time of 0.025 s and a THD of 0.66%.
