Consecuencias jurídico-políticas de la simplicidad y trascendencia del Dios bíblico

Abstract: The Judeo-Christian tradition asserts God as a being radically distinct from everything that exists intracosmically and from the cosmos itself. This view, later developed by Christian philosophy, has led to the explanation of God as Ipsum Esse Subsistens and creation as participation in being. Understanding God as a simple and transcendent being has consequences in the political and legal order. On one hand, it makes evident the impossibility of absolutizing earthly power and the law emanating from it. On the other hand, it provides the remote foundations for a metaphysical understanding of freedom and moderates the tendency towards an absolute individualism of the modern political-legal discourse.
