Abstract: Issues related to the ethnic, national and cultural identity during the last two decades became heightened on the territory of the former Yugoslav republics, which are today independent states. The examination of identity constructs is a part of ethnology and anthropology, especially due to the different levels of research that it allows, as well as due to its presence as a topic in academic discourse, in the political sphere and in every-day life. The aim of this text is to define the common elements of the structure of national, ethnic and cultural identity, something that has connected the members of the community of the village Gorno Lisiche, and the way in which these relations function. In this sense, an attempt will be made to provide the basic frames for defining the components that form the ethnic, national and cultural identity of a local community, through a reconstruction of proceedings related to the cultural event “Ilinden March”.
