Methods of Comparing Documents to Prevent Plagiarism

Abstract: The article discusses approaches to comparing text documents that take into account both syntactic and semantic similarities. Fuzzy string comparison algorithms are described, as well as algorithms based on vector representations of word sets, indicating the metric of similarity calculation. A comparative analysis of the considered methods is carried out, advantages and disadvantages are identified for each. The results of the comparison can be used to determine the similarity of texts and automatically detect plagiarism.
