Abstract: This article explores the significance of philosophical ideas about the nature of crime for the development of forensic science. An analysis of various philosophical approaches to understanding crime — from classical concepts to contemporary postmodern interpretations — demonstrates their influence on the formation of the methodological foundations of forensic science. Key philosophical questions, such as the nature of good and evil, free will and determinism, and their influence on the interpretation of the causes of criminal behavior and the development of forensic methods, are examined. The article emphasizes the necessity of a dialogue between philosophy and forensic science for a more adequate understanding of crime and for improving the effectiveness of combating it. In conclusion, the prospects for further interdisciplinary research in this field, oriented towards improving forensic practice and theory, are formulated.
