Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The article analyzes the linguistic behaviour of teenagers, finds out the reasons that led to the appearance of this phenomenon, and the possibilities of influencing the subculture of teenagers. Adolescent language culture is a complex long-term process that is associated with traditions of family communication, learning in educational institutions, extracurricular activities, self-development, communication with peers directly and through social networks. Depending on these factors, the speech culture and vocabulary of teenagers is formed, in which there are a lot of English and Russian borrowings, swearing, slang, and slang tokens. According to the teenagers themselves, this language brings them closer to the world of adults, gives them the opportunity to stand out in society, to declare themselves and their subculture. Memes play an important role in the communication of teenagers. Active use of memes was facilitated by the Internet as an extremely powerful and effective tool for information exchange, popular social networks, the fast tempo of Ukrainian life, excessive aggressiveness due to war events, and a rather low level of general and language culture. The use of profanity by teenagers in communication with their peers and in public places worries parents and teachers, because the demonstrative leveling of linguistic, cultural and behavioural norms entails the legal nihilism of teenagers. Communication in the Russian language is another worldview and communication problem that must be solved, because professing the values of the Russian world, communicating in Russian shakes the patriotic, moral, educational foundations of our state. The analysis of the language behaviour of teenagers proved that the vast majority of communication occurs in violation of the norms of the language standard, so the article outlines the ways to overcome this linguistic and cultural deviance.
