Abstract: The main objective of this review is to demonstrate the application of the proton transfer method for the estimation and differentiation of potassium-bearing minerals (such as potassium feldspar, mica, etc.) using spectroscopic analysis. There are many methods used in this field, but this review focuses on the “proton transfer” technique, which is an advanced spectroscopic technique (often associated with mass spectrometry or other spectroscopic methods such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) or Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy in a specific way). This method relies on proton transfer reactions between molecules or ions to derive information about chemical composition.
