História e cinema LGBTQ+: entre memórias e esquecimentos
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article presents a reflection on the history of LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and/or queer, etc.) representation, through facts and events, in films and beyond. For this purpose, the connection between cinema and history will first be examined, as it has been constituted since the beginnings of cinematography. Subsequently, drawing upon Jacques Rancière’s notions of cinema as multiplicity, an alternative educational approach to the relationship between cinema and history will be put forward, one that more inclusively addresses the LGBTQ+ issue.
