Through the literature research method, the current status of non-general foreign language teaching in Yunnan universities is thoroughly analyzed from the dimensions of professional settings, educational resources, talent cultivation models, and market demands. Based on the theories of the economics of language and multicultural education, issues such as imbalanced professional structures, insufficient educational resources, lack of effectiveness in talent cultivation models, and disconnection between teaching orientation and actual demands have been revealed. Accordingly, strategies to optimize professional structures and layouts, enhance the construction of educational resources, innovate talent cultivation models, and strengthen the alignment between teaching and market demands are proposed to promote reform and support the cultivation of high-quality language talents that meet the needs of China-ASEAN cooperation.
