Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The article, based on the financial and economic results of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine", assesses the effectiveness of the state forestry sector management system after the reorganization - the unification of more than 150 separate business entities into one legal entity. The presented material provides the existing structure of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" and outlines its main tasks for the future. The author analyzes the financial results of the enterprise for 2023-2024 and identifies a negative trend in the decrease in net profit (profitability) at the end of the research period. The reasons for the deterioration of the specified main indicator of the business entity's activity are indicated. The article calculates the assessment of the financial condition of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine", which indicates that the enterprise is characterized by a sufficient level of liquidity and solvency, which allows us to state its ability to timely and fully fulfill its current and long-term obligations. In addition, having a sufficient reserve of its own financial resources, the enterprise is characterized by satisfactory financial stability, although some of its indicators had negative trends towards deterioration at the end of the research period. The author noted positive trends in significant growth in labor productivity and reduction in depreciation of fixed assets, which is due to the process of updating machinery and equipment, on the one hand, and a decrease in the number of employees, on the other. The conclusions are summarized regarding the short-term effectiveness of the financial and economic component of the reorganized management system of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" and the need for additional definition of the environmental and social components in assessing the effectiveness of the existing management system of the state forestry sector to ensure the principles of sustainable forest management.
