Abstract: Electric vehicles (EVs) are widely recognized within the transportation industry as highly promising green technology that mitigates carbon dioxide emissions and energy usage, but the public has shown great hesitancy in embracing them. It is therefore important to investigate and thoroughly understand why this is so and to determine what factors influence the decision to acquire them. This study examines the integrative approach, utilizing an extended technology acceptance model to examine the individuals’ inclination to adopt EVs. The model was tested, using a structural equation modeling based on survey data gathered from 733 potential consumers, and the results revealed that personal innovativeness, and perceived usefulness have significant and positive correlations with consumers’ inclination to adopt EVs, while perceived risk has a negative correlation. Additionally, the results revealed that individuals’ personal innovativeness positively affects perceived usefulness and negatively influences perceived risk. The outcomes of this study may aid policymakers and marketers with a deeper understanding of the most effective methods for promoting EVs within the realm of further research on sustainable mobility.
