Abstract: Viksit Bharat 2047 is the vision to transform India into a developed, self-reliant and prosperous economy by 2047, the year marking 100 years of India’s independence. The priority of India’s development strategy as emphasized by Viksit Bharat mission is on inclusive development and social welfare. Propelling India into a developed nation involves chalking out a novel and comprehensive plan with felicitous agenda. This article focuses on the priority areas of Viksit Bharat, government’s initiatives towards its attainment and the underlying policy implications.
