Abstract: The article provides an overview analysis of national pedagogical journals of the mid-twentieth century - “Soviet Pedagogy” (the academic journal of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the RSFSR), and “Radyanska school” (“Soviet School” - the academic pedagogical journal of the Ministry of Education of the Ukrainian SSR). A comparative review of the headings of these journals was carried out, which made it possible to conclude that there is a predominance of theoretical content in the journal “Soviet Pedagogy” and practical content in the journal “Radyanska school”. The leading topics of both journals are analyzed - the work of Pioneer and Komsomol organizations, achievements of the Soviet Union, didactics, problems of education, psychology, problems of teaching languages at school, special attention is paid to issues of pedagogical education, interaction between schools and families of students.
