Camp Counselor Training Programs: Results of Monitoring the Activities of Organizations Providing Professional Training of Camp Counselors

Abstract: The article is devoted to the issues of training camp counselors for the field of recreation and health improvement for children. It presents some aspects of the analysis of training programs for camp counselors obtained as a result of monitoring the activities of organizations providing vocational training for counselors conducted by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation in 2024. The authors focus on the differences and similarities between the professional training programs for the professions of workers and positions of employees «A specialist involved in organizing the activities of a children’s collective (camp counselor)» and the program of the module «Fundamentals of camp counselor activity» of the basic educational program within the framework of “Education and pedagogical sciences", show the criteria for analyzing programs, reveal the main disadvantages and gaps in the content of camp counselors’ training programs. The authors give an idea of the prospects for improving the quality of training of camp counselors.
