Abstract: The article substantiates the need to search for effective tools for first-year students’ adaptation to the educational environment. The program for first-year students’ adaptation to the educational environment of the Institute of Physical Education, Sports and Health of Moscow Pedagogical State University is presented, which the authors of the article consider a pedagogical tool. The obtained results of the implementation of survey methods made it possible to classify the difficulties of first-year students in the educational process of the Institute of Physical Education, Sports and Health of Moscow Pedagogical State University. The developed program for first-year students’ adaptation to the educational environment of Moscow Pedagogical State University is aimed at solving the problem of social and psychological adaptation of first-year students, and can serve as an effective tool for mentoring future teachers in the field of physical education and sports.
