Abstract: The article is dedicated to the “little poem" “My Way" by S. A. Yesenin. A distinctive feature of the writer’s autobiography is the correlation of truth and fiction, that is, documentary and artistic principles, which is fully shown by Yesenin’s poetic biography: in a retrospective narrative, the lyrical hero sums up what he lived through, tracing the main stages of his life and the formation of his artistic personality. The history of the creation of a “little poem" integrated into the general context of the poet’s work is analyzed. The general idea of reassessing the past and thinking about a new life, as well as a clear compositional and style similarity, connect the poem with “Leaving Russia," “Homeless Russia" and other works of the poet. The concept of the path as a comeback has become a form of expression of Yesenin ’s innermost thoughts and experiences, which is also true for his poetic biography. Whereas the motif of a homecoming in some of the poet’s works is associated with the image of a dog, here it is associated with a mare. In the final lines, the homecoming motif is associated with hope for inspiration and renewal.
