Abstract: In radiation therapy, the Percentage Depth Dose (PDD) is a key parameter for evaluating dose distribution, playing a critical role in treatment planning and quality assurance. In this study, the PDD of 6 MV photon beams produced by a Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator was calculated using the PHITS code. The simulated results were then compared with measured values and standard value. The findings indicate that the PHITS-calculated PDD values differed by ±2% within the 150–200 mm depth range, which falls within the acceptable tolerance limits recommended by the AAPM TG-40 report.
