Abstract: Computer technologies and communication systems play an important role as teaching aids in higher education institutions.Today, a new stage of computerization and multimedia technologies is being introduced into educational practice.This creates an integrated information environment in which users can find new opportunities for high-quality educational and cognitive activities of higher education students.The use of multimedia in higher education has been introduced in various types of educational activities.The relevance of this study lies in substantiating the need for the use of multimedia technologies in higher education institutions, which allow for the active use of computer tools and can be applied in almost all types of educational activities.The research methodology is based on modern provisions of pedagogical science and reflects the interrelation of methodological approaches to studying the use of multimedia technologies in higher education institutions.Scientific novelty.The features of the use of multimedia technologies in higher education institutions are characterized.The purpose of the article is to characterize the effectiveness of the use of multimedia technologies in higher education institutions.Conclusions. 1.The use of multimedia technologies and information educational environments in higher education institutions makes learning more interesting, integrative, interactive, emotional and contextual, and leads to the formation of professional competencies in students.2. Multimedia technologies and multimedia software products have a significant impact on the intensification and personalization of learning.5.The most popular multimedia platforms are: Blackboard, CenturyTech, Edraak, Google Classroom, Google, Moodle.6. Teachers of higher education institutions actively use multimedia technologies as a means of improving and modernizing the educational process in various types of classes.
