The Complete Genome Sequence of Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus YGRT11, a Potential Probiotic Strain Isolated from Korean Yogurt
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The bacterium Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus, in the Lacticaseibacillus genus, is recognized for its potential in probiotics because of its multiple gastric environmental survival genes, including acid, extreme thermal resistance, osmotic stress resistance, oxidative stress tolerance, cell wall formation, adhesive properties, and biofilm formation related genes [1].The genome sequence of L. rhamnosus strain YGRT11 was procured after isolating it from Korean yogurt. The sample was collected from Korean commercial yogurt. The isolation process involved serial dilution of 1 g of yogurt and then culturing the bacteria on MRS agar and MRS broth at 37℃ for 24 h.A single colony was then isolated and cultivated in MRS for 12 h prior to molecular identification.Genomic DNA extraction and sequencing were performed following the same methods described in the previous study [2].Briefly, DNA was extracted using the Wizard genomic DNA purification kit (Promega, USA),This study presents the whole-genome sequence of Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus strain YGRT11, isolated from Korean yogurt. The genome of the strain is composed of a single chromosome with a plasmid, 2,993,353 bp, and the GC content is 46.7%.
