Abstract: Yog, an ancient Indian traditional practice has become well-known throughout the world for its positive effects on mental, emotional and physical health. With rising stress levels among college students because of academic pressure and lifestyle issues, incorporating Yog into the academic curriculum can be a valuable tool for holistic well-being. The present study explores students’ perceptions on Yog education in Delhi colleges, focusing on its significance, benefits, challenges and implementation tactics. Using a structured questionnaire, around 200 college students (18–21 years old) from various academic disciplines from Delhi colleges, has participated in the survey. The results show that 97.5% of students recognize the positive benefits of Yog, indicating a high level of awareness, engagement and interest in the Yog. Due to Yog practice, students experienced increases in their level of physical fitness, stress management, emotional resilience and focus. However, challenges like: lack of trained instructors, limited resources and time constraints impede its complete incorporation. Despite these challenges, the vast majority of students advocate making Yog a mandatory subject with a practical approach. It is concluded that systematic implementation with adequate facilities, qualified trainers and institutional support is important for maximizing impact of Yog education. Furthermore, for effectively implementation of Yog into curriculum, it is important to raise awareness, reshape the perceptions, focus on publicity and fostering a positive environment. For example: for increased publicity and introduction of Yog Education: Introduce students, parents, and teachers about the positive benefits of Yog education, conduct talks, lectures, seminars, workshops and demonstrations on Yog. Emphasize its educational and fitness benefits by sharing success stories and real-world examples. Addressing these can help to secure the long-term sustainability of Yog education, while enhancing students’ overall development and wellbeing.
