Peningkatan Minat Baca melalui Aplikasi Wattpad dan Seminar Literasi di SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Cileungsi

Abstract: Reading interest among students is one of the major challenges in the world of Indonesian education. The Community Service Program (PkM) through Real Work Lectures (KKN) implemented by students of PG PAUD Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Muhammadiyah Bogor Raya aims to identify factors of low reading interest among students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Cileungsi and provide effective solutions to overcome it. Based on observations, many students prefer to read through gadgets, rather than reading physical books that are considered less interesting. This study uses a qualitative approach with interview and observation methods. The results of the study show that although students are more active in reading on gadgets, they tend to be less interested in academic reading. As a solution, this study suggests utilizing the Wattpad application, and holding a seminar on the importance of literacy. With this approach, it is hoped that students can be more motivated to increase their reading interest, both for academic and personal purposes.
