Abstract: A 60-year old lady presented to the clinic with a sudden decrease in vision in her left, only seeing eye, post-trauma with an iron rod in a factory. She had pre-existing corneal opacities in both eyes following viral keratitis. Her uncorrected visual acuity was counting fingers at 1 m, which improved to 6/60 with a +8 diopter correcting lens. Slit-lamp examination showed polymethylmethacrylate intraocular lenses (IOL) with a broken haptic in the temporal sub-conjunctival space. The small-incision cataract surgery tunnel was apposed, and the intra-ocular pressure maintained at 16 mm Hg. The retinal examination revealed no breaks. The dislocated IOL was removed, and the broken haptic was found posteriorly under the conjunctiva and was removed. The patient refused secondary IOL implantation but gained reasonable vision with aphakic spectacles. Priya Narang and Agarwal[1] published a case series of five patients, demonstrating management techniques in cases of traumatic pseudophacoceles [Figure 1].Figure 1: PseudophacoceleDeclaration of patient consent The authors certify that they have obtained all appropriate patient consent forms. In the form, the patient has given her consent for her images and other clinical information to be reported in the journal. The patient understand that name and initials will not be published, and due efforts will be made to conceal her identity, but anonymity cannot be guaranteed. Financial support and sponsorship Nil.
