Abstract: This article deals with the intervention of conservation and restoration in the tabernacle of the presbytery of the parish of San Juan Bautista of La Orotava, ocusing on several points that have been observed with the recovery and arrangement of the missing elements that were in the original design of the work by José de Bethencourt y Castro (1757-1816). In addition, the vicissitudes surrounding the construction method of the tabernacle as well as the sculpture of St. John the Baptist, until now catalogued as an anonymous work of the 17th century, are noted
