Abstract: We developed and evaluated a new modular concept for a modern compact ultrasound sensor platform.The hardware is designed as an inexpensive, matchbox-sized set of components that can be easily combined and configured for a wide range of applications including mobile and distributed technical or wearable biomedical ultrasound.The modular concept and flexible software architecture allows the adaptation to new applications with a short time to market and will be applied in distributed sensor networks including edge-AI based processing in the future.
