Abstract: The main directions and approaches to ensuring food security of the Russian Federation are considered. The state and prospects of implementation of investment projects, problematic issues in the field of breeding and seed production are shown. The role and importance of the national project «Technological provision of food security» in the context of the issues under study are noted. Possible directions for solving personnel problems in the industry are outlined. The issues of formation and development of the domestic agri-food market at the present stage, the dynamics of the main indicators of the state of agriculture in the Russian Federation are considered, negative trends are identified. Approaches to improving the innovation environment and creating conditions for successful import substitution in high-tech industries are proposed.
