Abstract: The article aims to present the ways in which some of the features of Catholic religious discourse are manifested in contemporary Polish Pentecostal sermons. The following features can be observed: formulaic speech, conventionality, and cliché expressions (i.e., using phrasemes, phatic formulae such as “Amen” in a dialogue with the preacher, and exclamations), the existence of a certain constant composition framework (as a form of standardization), colloquial, biblical and high style, elaborate figurativeness, dialogic practices, which have taken the form of persuasiveness (specific grammar forms, scenario speech – repeating formulae after the preacher and entering into a staged conversation with him, specific phatic forms such as mentioning the names of the people present at the service), and professionalism.
