Abstract: This paper focuses on United Republic of Tanzania’s 2025 Article IV Consultation, Fifth Review under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) Arrangement, Modification of Performance Criteria, and Second Review under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility Arrangement. Tanzania’s economic reform program under the ECF arrangement remained on track. The medium-term outlook is favorable, contingent on sustained reform implementation, particularly to strengthen the business environment and support a more dynamic private sector. Amid strong demographic pressures, achieving resilient and inclusive long-term growth requires accelerated human capital development through increased and more efficient public spending on education and health. At the same time, structural reforms in the areas of public sector governance, business regulation, and access to finance, as well as climate change-related reforms, are critical to foster private sector development and job creation, enhance economic resilience and reduce prospective balance of payments risks.
