Abstract: Turkey, especially due to its geo-political position, has become a transit route and target for asylum seekers in recent years, some of whom want to migrate to the west, especially to Europe, and seek better living conditions, while others aim to live in Turkey.Today, events such as the Israeli-Palestinian tension in the Middle East and its spillover to Lebanon and even the threat of a regional war and the internal conflicts in Syria trigger international asylum-seeker and refugee movements, dragging millions of people from the lands where they were born to other geographies and causing significant political, socio-economic and socio-cultural problems in the countries where they seek refuge.Especially after 2011, as a result of the conflicts in Syria, there has been a gradual movement of a large number of refugees from Syria to Turkey.According to official data, there are approximately 3.5 million Syrian asylum seekers living in Turkey as of 2024.In this study, the perceptions and attitudes of the local people living in Kahramanmaraş towards Syrian asylum seekers were analysed by using the survey design method, one of the quantitative research methods. In the research, the questionnaire form used in Aydın and Durgun's research article titled "Socio-Economic and Political Evaluation of Syrian Asylum Seekers in Kahramanmaraş by Local People" (2018) was revised and improved. In this context, data were collected by applying a questionnaire to 300 participants in accordance with the "convenience sampling" method. The questionnaire forms were applied to the local people living in Kahramanmaraş city centre between 20 October and 20 November 2024 and willing to participate in the study.
