Type: article
Abstract: With the continuous development of microgrid technology, the operating conditions of the power grid are becoming increasingly complex, and the number of cables is also increasing. As a result, the problem of cable faults is increasing day by day. To better solve the problem of detecting faults in the DC side cables of converters in microgrids, this paper proposes a high-frequency incident signal detection method based on unit length cables. When the cables are disturbed or damaged, the input high-frequency test signals will reflect. The reflection time of the test signals is used to determine the location of the cables being disturbed or damaged; furthermore, the type of cable fault can be determined by the value of the reflection coefficient. In the article, a corresponding simulation model was built in MATLAB to verify the technical method, and the numerical calculation results were consistent with the theoretical analysis results. A fault detection experimental platform was also established in the article, and simulation calculations and experimental results verified the accuracy and feasibility of the theoretical analysis method proposed in the article. Finally, the article also provides a comparative analysis of multiple methods, further verifying the effectiveness of the methods proposed in the article.
