Effect of Welding Voltage, Gas Flow Rate and Welding Current on Impact Strength of Mild Steel
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The objective of this paper was to investigate the influence of welding voltage, gas flow rate and welding current on impact strength of mild steel plate in a Tungsten Inert Gas using Response Surface Methodology. Data obtained reveals that the Gas Flow Rate of 10lit/min, Welding current of 160Amp and Voltage of 9 Volts, results in Impact strength of 100.9 J after the Welding process. In conclusion, it was discovered that the Impact strength is significant affected by the voltage.
