Specific features of organizing the operation of an automobile stripping complex in conditions of the In-Pit Crushing and Conveying System of coal mining using the case of the Berezovsky strip mine

Abstract: The distinctive features of an enterprise that mines brown steam coal include the cyclic demand for coal due to natural and climatic factors, the availability of water in the rivers (the possibility to use hydro power), the growth of competition. These conditions require the enterprise to improve its efficiency in order to ensure its viability. One of the obvious factors of cost reduction is the decreased volume of stripping operations, but in the long term it will raise the costs and increase the risks of failing to meet the contract obligations. The In-Pit Crushing and Conveying System of coal mining makes it possible to respond flexibly to changes in demand, which can be restrained by the lack of sufficient reserves ready for excavation. Completeness and timeliness of the reserves preparation is determined by the way the stripping complex is organized. The article discusses the mining technologies using the case of the Berezovsky strip mine as an example. The specific features of organizing the operation of an automobile stripping complex are shown for the conditions of the In-Pit Crushing and Conveying System and variability of the coal consumption volumes. The technological scheme of mining used at the Berezovsky strip mine is presented.
