Econazole Nitrate Nanogels Formulated and Evaluated by Modified Emulsification Diffusion Technique to Treat Candidiasis
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: When using econazole nitrate in conventional drug delivery. This can waste the drug, reduce its bioavailability, and cause some side effects. A condition that can range from superficial to deeply invasive and systemic invasions, caused by infection with Candida species. In the current work, we created a nanogel using a modified emulsification diffusion method as a potentially effective topical drug delivery system for econazole nitrate. We then assessed the econazole nitrate using a number of parameters, including extrudability, spreadability, drug content, and physical appearance. Because of the polymers used, the in vitro release complied with zero order kinetics, exhibiting a release erosion mechanism followed by non-Fick Ian diffusion. Drug administration frequency can be decreased, bioavailability can be increased, and side effects can be decreased.
