Abstract: Law 7/2017, of December 27, on citizen participation in Andalusia, established a comprehensive legal framework to promote the active participation of citizens in public affairs, establishing this as a right to strengthen democracy and improve quality of public policies. To do this, it uses different processes and instruments, trying to guarantee and facilitate, in this way, the broad and effective involvement of society in decision-making. Among those are participatory deliberation; participatory budgets; popular consultations; the proposal of public policies and the development of standards; as well as the monitoring and evaluation of public policies and the provision of public services. In this context, we will analyze how these instruments and processes are being implemented at the local level in the Andalusian territory since the approval of the standard, through the Andalusian Network of Participatory Cities (RACCPP).
