Abstract: Introduction: This extensive study on the relationship between serum Vitamin D, calcium, albumin levels, bone mineral density (BMD), and body mass index (BMI) in young adults represents a significant contribution to understanding the complex interactions between these biomarkers and overall health. Recognizing the growing concerns around bone health and nutritional status in this demographic, the present study was designed as a cross-sectional analysis aimed at investigating these relationships in a cohort of young adults. Materials & Methods: This cross sectional study included 150 participants aged (18-25 yr). Serum vitamin D was measured and BMI and BMD were assessed. Results: The levels of Vitamin D in serum was less than 30 ng/ml in 88% of young adults of the study (Normal Vitamin D levels are 30-50 ng/ml) and was found to be deficient. The Bone Mineral density (BMD) was found to be 42.7% less than -1 of young adults of the study (Normal Bone Mineral density are t score-1 to+1). The findings suggest that neither BMD (β = -0.015, p = 0.860) nor BMI (β = 0.018, p = 0.824) had a significant impact on predicting serum vitamin D levels. The constant term showed statistical significance (B = 12.475, p = 0.000), indicating that blood vitamin D levels are not affected by BMD or BMI in this model. Conclusion: The findings of the study specifically showed that there was no statistically significant relationship between vitamin D levels and BMD. This challenges the widely held belief that vitamin D is a key factor in determining bone density. This implies that there may be other variables, such as levels of physical activity and nutritional habits, that have a greater impact on bone health in the early adult years.
