Halal Certification of MSME Aisyiyah Surabaya for Competitive Advantage in Indonesian Market

Abstract: This research explores the importance of assistance in the Business Identification Number (NIB) registration process, improving production processes, and implementing halal certification for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Surabaya. Through an integrated approach, MSMEs are given an in-depth understanding of business legality and the benefits of halal certification. Mentoring activities begin with detailed socialisation regarding NIB registration procedures and continue with identifying obstacles in the production process. The technical assistance provided succeeded in increasing productivity and resource management efficiency. The main findings show that MSMEs that successfully obtain NIB and halal certification experience increased consumer confidence, expand market networks, and support local economic growth. The conclusion of this research confirms that holistic support can strengthen the competitive position of MSMEs in an increasingly competitive market.
