Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the levels of physical activity, quality of life, and well-being of practitioners of adapted judo with intellectual disabilities. Thirteen athletes with intellectual disabilities who regularly practice judo participated in the study. Participants completed the following instruments: the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), the SF-36 Quality of Life Questionnaire, and the Well-Being Scale. Pearson correlation was used to examine the relationships between variables, with a significance level set at p<0.05. The results revealed that participants had an overall adequate quality of life, with a highlight on the physical functioning domain (82.3%). However, significant limitations were still observed, such as emotional difficulties in 46.5% of practitioners and functional limitations due to physical health in 65.3%. Regarding physical activity, participants were active, with an average of 2 days per week performing vigorous activities, totaling 127.7 minutes of intense practice. The well-being perception of practitioners was rated as good, with an average score of 4 on the well-being perception scale. Additionally, significant correlations were found between the physical functioning domain and the well-being perception scale (r = 0.56; p = 0.046), suggesting that judo practice contributes to both physical and emotional well-being. In conclusion, adapted judo was found to be beneficial for the physical health and well-being of individuals with intellectual disabilities, suggesting the need for further longitudinal studies to explore the long-term benefits of this practice.
