Digital Literacy of Vietnamese Academic Librarians

Abstract: This paper reveals the findings of a study that examined the digital literacy of Vietnamese academic librarians and the factors that affect their digital literacy. A survey research method was employed to gather data from academic librarians in Vietnam, based on UNESCO's Digital Literacy Global Framework. The investigation results indicated that the digital literacy of the academic librarians surveyed exceeded the intermediate level, but various competence areas needed improvement. The study advises considering a range of factors, from individual to organisational aspects, and the broader socio-economic setting when developing digital literacy for academic librarians.
