Abstract: Palliative medicine is a set of care measures provided by a medical team focused on patients who have no possibility of a cure. Palliative care is not widely implemented in Veterinary Medicine in Brazil. The end of life is an inevitable moment for every living being; however, there are measures that can be adopted so that, even at this time, animals have quality of life and their well-being is not negatively affected. When an animal can no longer be cured, or existing treatments may cause more harm than good, it becomes necessary to discuss the reality of the animal's end of life with the tutors, raising a discussion on how and where the end of life can occur.
